Hi Advisor and thank you so much for your participation! We know the demands on your time are immense. So we have worked to establish a framework, which after a few steps, should allow your StuCo members to pretty much run the program. Our goal is to enhance your leadership experience and your students’ development. This is accomplished through practical hands on activities, mixed in with technology ingredients, for a dynamic program involving your campus, district and community.
The suggested schedule and activities provide initial ideas to focus energy and maximize opportunities. Consider having your StuCo members establish a 4empowerment committee to develop their action plan and assign leadership responsibilities.
As the Advisor you are the gatekeeper to the program, especially to the secured area of the 4empowerment web site. We know you take online security very seriously, we sure do.
Please click here to enroll in the secured area of 4empowerment’s web site, it should only a few minutes. You will receive an email with your password to the secured Advisor/Teacher area of the web site. You can then modify your password and update preferences.
Once you have your password you will be able to log in to the secured area of the site for access to the project management area, users guide, as well as easy tutorials. You will then enroll your StuCo members so they can participate in projects, post their field data, collaborate with other students in a secured environment and much more.
There are three options to enroll your StuCo members to the secured area of the 4e site. Teachers have told us the easiest ways are to upload the info yourself or use the option where the StuCo members enroll themselves and then you approve them.
Tip: Some teachers assign a student “4e web mister”, but only if the student is extremely trustworthy and dependable. A reliable student “4e web mister” may assist you in setting up a field site and getting the program going on the web. Remember, as the Advisor you have final publishing approval before students’ data, reports or photos are posted for public view.
Please note, when posting photos, which are a fun item, students should never use last names, just first names or a nick name and always be sure the photos appropriately represent your school. Any questionable activity can always be reported through the “Web Police” button at the bottom of each web page.
Your school should have parental approval forms for student participation in field activities and web site participation, but we've developed a few forms just in case you need them. Plus, note that many of the activities include TEKS alignment information.
You will receive our 4e-newsletter, which will show case StuCo achievement, provide ideas, useful info and occasional contest information.
We are very excited to be working with you and thank you for this opportunity. Please let us know your thoughts and suggestions. We want to be responsive to your needs as we work to develop a program that helps you, your students, school and community.
