Don't Forget to Follow Up
Don't be discouraged if your letter is not printed. Keep trying. You can submit a revised letter with a different angle on the issue later. If your letter is published, be sure to send it to 4empowerment and your member of Congress. While your Representative or Senator will probably already have seen it, the letter carries more weight if it comes from you with a personal note attached.
Think Strategically
Think about a letter to the editor as a regular strategic tool. Target several different papers, newsletters or magazines in your district or state at the same time and encourage others to explore different angles on the same issue.
