Cougar News, Newsletter of Chisholm Trail MS, December 2000
We had a very busy end to this six weeks, including a visit from a paleontologist, Mr. Tykoski, who informed us about eating a dinosaur for Turkey Day. We were glad that we were eating it rather than it eating us! Next, we visited the Recycling Center and learned a few tips about environmental issues directly affecting us.We also began the Cyberways and Waterways project and made our first visit to Lake Creek for pH, temperature and bio-diversity studies.

It's hard to believe the time is coming when our 6th graders return to us as middle school pros. The first three weeks of the spring semester is Human Growth and Development followed by Energy chapters. While investi-gating kinetic and potential energy, we will experiment with catapult projectiles. Since the Medieval Fair ends the 4th Six Weeks, our science class activity will be attacking the local castles.
By now, everyone should have received notification and signed the blue paper that describes the 3 different areas of the Invention Convention. It is the highlight event for science and takes place before spring break.
